Tips for Studying For Exams

1. Intentions
Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, deeds depend upon intentions. Indeed, every person will be rewarded based on their intentions…” (Bukhari and Muslim). Do not have any doubts and make your intentions clear.
2.Make Prayers
Time management is key but always make sure to work around your five daily prayers.
3. Make du'a before during and after
When struggling to understand a unit or subject we struggle with, make Dua. Turn to Him and ask Him directly. Make sure to concentrate and not have any distractions while making the du'a.
4. Take advantage of Tahajjud Time.
The last part of the night, right before dawn, is considered a blessed time. In the Quran, Allah says, “Lo! The vigil of the night is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain” (73:6). Go to bed right after praying Isha and wake up an hour or two before Fajr starts. Use this blessed time to really focus and concentrate when studying, especially for those subjects you find most difficult.
5. Space out your studying just like prayers.
If we were to pray all five salats at the same time, we would not remember Allah for the rest of the day. This is the same thing with studying. Space out your studying time so you will remember what you have read. One method is to study 15-20 minutes after each prayer.
6. Do as you would with the Quran - Learn, Teach & Relearn
Try learning a topic that you have learned and try reteaching to a family member or anyone you know. This way you will remember what you have learned.
7. Try rewriting what you learned.
When you rewrite your notes, you will automatically memorize what you wrote and still see it.
